Ein Papst, der dieser Welt angehört
Der jüngste Skandal um Papst Franziskus betrifft das Geschenk, das er vom bolivianischen Präsidenten Evo Morales erhalten hat; eine sakrilegische Darstellung des Kruzifixes, bestehend aus Hammer und Sichel und ein Medaillon, das die selben kommunistischen Symbole trägt.
Jetzt findet eine beträchtliche Debatte in der Blogger-Szene statt, ob Papst Franziskus über das verfälschte Kruzifix jetzt ein „No est bien“ (das ist nicht gut) gesagt hat, oder nicht.
Auch durch die Überprüfung des Videos war mir dies nicht feststellbar, aber was allen Beteiligten klar sein sollte ist, dass es ein grundlegendes Problem mit diesem Pontifikat gibt.
Sogar wenn Papst Franziskus wirklich gesagt haben sollte: „No esta bien“, fanden zwei vollkommen unakzeptable und vermeidbare Dinge statt:
Erstens, Morales hat es erfolgreich geschafft, ein Pressebild hinzukriegen, bei dem er neben einem lächelnden Pontifex steht, der gerade in seinen Händen einen Gegenstand hält, in dem sich zwei sich gegenseitig ausschließende Dinge vereinen – das eine rein teuflisch, nämlich der Kommunismus, das andere das größte Geschenk, das die Menschheit je erhalten hat, und zwar das Sühneopfer Jesu Christi.
Ich würde sagen, Morales hat sich selbst übertroffen im Heimfahren eines glorreichen Sieges.
Zweitens, ein halb-privates in sich Hineinmurmeln eines „No esta bien“ ist nicht einmal nahe an einem „gut genug“.
Und wenn er es tatsächlich gesagt hätte, die Art, wie er es gesagt hat, bestätigt nur, was wir seit langem über diesen Papst wissen; er nimmt einfach seine Rolle des Wächters über den Glauben und des Obersten Lehramtes nicht ernst.
Man fragt sich, wie wohl Papst Pius X, Benedikt XV, Pius XI, und Pius XII auf einen solchen Affront reagiert hätten.
Auf der einen Seite würden wir sagen, dass eine starke und unmissverständliche Zurechtweisung stattgefunden hätte, wahrscheinlich gefolgt von einem Kniefall als Wiedergutmachung für diese schreckliche Beleidigung gegen Christus.
Anderseits ist es viel realistischer anzunehmen, dass eine solche Verdrehung niemals passiert wäre.
Es ist überhaupt nicht daran zu denken, dass solche „Geschenke“ in vormaligen Zeiten den Weg in das gleiche Zimmer wie der Heilige Vater jemals geschafft hätten; sein Gefolge von Assistenten und Sicherheitspersonal hätten eine solche Möglichkeit sofort beseitigt, selbst auch nur allein aus dem Grund, dass ihnen bewusst war, dass ihre eigenen Köpfe rollen würden, wenn sie solches erlaubt hätten.
Dies bringt mich auch noch auf einen anderen Aspekt dieses Skandals, nämlich die Art der Männer, welche sich Papst Franziskus auswählt, ihn zu umgeben.
Jeder Papst umgibt sich mit Männern, die denken, wie er denkt, oder zumindest lernen, ihr eigenes Denken dem des Papstes anzupassen, um ihm dienen zu können.
Wie auch immer, es kann keinen Zweifel daran geben, insbesondere angesichts der Tatsache, dass wir in Zeiten des Terrorismus leben, dass eine gewisse Anzahl von Leuten im päpstlichen Gefolge diese großartig beleidigenden „Geschenke“ sehr gut überprüft haben, bevor sie überreicht wurden.
Sie erlaubten Morales sogar, kommunistische Symbole um den Hals des Heiligen Vaters zu legen, so als ob es akzeptabel wäre, den Papst als ein bisschen mehr als ein kleines Mannequin zu gebrauchen!
Bestenfalls hat das Papst-Team versagt, woraufhin er seinerseits die Welt enttäuscht hat.
Nichtsdestoweniger ist es ja nicht so, dass sein Team keinen Grund hätte anzunehmen, dass ihr Boss nicht offen wäre für ein „Posing“ anlässlich eines politikträchtigen Pressefotos.
Welche Art von Papst erlaubt sich wie eine Anschlagstafel für verschiedentliche Angelegenheiten behandelt zu werden, sogar von solchen, die die Feinde der Kirche sind; um diesen damit einen Diebstahl zu ermöglichen, was für viele auch noch wie eine Befürwortung seitens der Kirche aussieht.
Solch eine Art von Papst gehört mehr noch der Welt an, als der Heiligen Katholischen Kirche.

The latest scandal surrounding Pope Francis concerns the gifts he received from Bolivian President Evo Morales; a sacrilegious representation of the Crucifix fashioned out of a hammer and sickle and a medallion bearing the same communist symbol.
Now, there is considerable debate taking place in the Catholic blogosphere about whether or not Pope Francis said, upon receiving the bastardized Crucifix, “No esta bien” (This is not good).
From a review of the video, it’s not clear to me either way, but what should be clear to all concerned is that there is a major problem with this pontificate.
Even if Pope Francis did say “No esta bien,” two entirely unacceptable and avoidable things took place:
Number one, Morales successfully executed a photo-op of himself standing next to a smiling Roman Pontiff, who happens to be holding in his hands an article that combines two mutually exclusive things – one pure evil, one the greatest gift mankind has received; namely, Communism and the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
I’d say that Morales hit himself a home run.
Secondly, a semi-private muttering of “No esta bien“ isn’t even close to good enough.
If, in fact, it actually was said, the manner in which it was spoken only confirms what we’ve long since known about this pope; he simply doesn’t take his role as guardian of the Faith and Supreme Teacher seriously.
One wonders how Popes Pius X, Benedict XV, Pius XI, and Pius XII would have reacted to such an affront.
On the one hand, we might say that a firm and unmistakable rebuke would have taken place, followed by the Holy Father likely dropping to his knees in reparation for this terrible offense against Christ.
On the other, it’s more realistic to believe that such a travesty would have never taken place.
There is no way that such “gifts” would have ever made their way into the same room as the Holy Father in those days; his entourage of assistants and security personal would have immediately eliminated that possibility, if for no other reason than knowing full well that their own heads would likely roll if they allowed such a thing.
Which brings me to another aspect of this scandal; namely, the kinds of men with whom Pope Francis chooses to surround himself.
Every pope surrounds himself with men who think as he thinks, or at the very least learn to conform their thinking to his own in order to serve him.
There can be no doubt whatsoever that, especially given that we now live in an age of terrorism, that any number of persons in the papal entourage had screened and approved of these magnificently offensive “gifts” well before they were given.
They even allowed Morales to drape Communist symbols around the Holy Father’s neck; like it is acceptable to use the pope as if he is little more than a mannequin!
In the best case scenario, the pope’s staff failed him, and then he in turn failed the world.
That said, it’s not as if his staff had no reason to believe that their boss would be open to posing for a politically charged photo-op.
What kind of pope allows himself to be treated as a billboard for various causes even by those who are enemies of the Church; enabling them to steal what looks to many like her approval?
The kind of pope who belongs to the world more so than to the Holy Catholic Church.
